What If I Hate Writing Articles

Hey you're kinda new here aren't you... You should subscribe to our RSS feed">RSS feed, so you never miss a video. It's also my mission to get to know all my new readers. Follow me on Twitter so we can chat. Thanks for visiting!

So what do you do when you keep hearing over and over that writing articles is the best way to get traffic, and that you HAVE to write articles if you’re going to ever succeed in internet marketing…etc.,etc…. but you actually hate writing articles?

Now there’s a difference between hating to write articles and being scared of writing articles because you’re afraid you might get it wrong. If you fall into that category then you should download the free report offered here about getting traffic because there’s a great section about writing articles in there.

Ok but for now let’s say you know how to write an article but you just absolutely detest it. That’s fine and dandy, there are many things I hate doing. Actually, even though I’m a writer, I myself sometimes hate writing articles too.

It is a process.

So my first advice would be simple…DON’T WRITE ARTICLES!

Now wasn’t that profound?

There’s Always Outsourcing

You could outsource your article writing. Although being a freelance writer who sometimes pays his bills with by writing, it seems there are some people who are paying only about $5 per article.

I can’t be sure of the quality of an article that you’re going to get from a $5 article writer as opposed to a $25 article writer like myself.

I know that the quality I offer is fantastic (if I do say so myself LOL) and I go above and beyond for my clients.

But still, if you’re in the beginning stages and it means the difference of getting something out there and not, then you should go ahead and pay the $5 article writers their five bucks and get something out there.

Is PLR Worth It?

You could buy PLR articles and use them, but the fact is that unless you want to have the same article as everyone out there then you’re going to have to basically rewrite the articles anyways.

An alternative is to buy the PLR and outsource it to someone to rewrite them. You might get a bit of a cheaper rate for that.

If you are looking for PLR material, I can with all my heart recommend Tiffany Dow’s PLR Mini Mart! Besides having a cool name for the site, I know that her quality is impeccable, and you really can’t beat the price.

Bypass the Whole Damn Thing

Actually, just because it is a great way to get traffic, and sustain traffic, there’s nowhere that it says that you HAVE to write articles.

For instance, if you’ve got some money to spare on the learning curve, you can always use paid traffic sources like PPC, Banner Advertising, CPM, Mail drops (sometimes called mail bombs I think)… etc. There are plenty of paid avenues to go down so that you don’t even have to worry about writing articles at all.

If you’re marketing a product, especially a digital product like an Ebook, or videos etc. you can get affiliates to go out there are sell your stuff for you. I guess that’s basically a paid form of traffic…only you’re only paying after the sell is made. Can’t get better than that!

So there you go…if you just absolutely hate writing articles then there are some of many things that you can do instead. If you’re just scared, or not sure of yourself, then subscribe to my newsletter, and you’ll get a free report that teaches all that you need to know to get started.

That will give you the extra push you need hopefully.

What to Market…Yikes!

by TroyBoyd on June 10, 2009

So one of the big problems that people have when they first get started in Internet Marketing…and sometimes prevents them from ever starting at all… is knowing what to market.

Some people know all of the ins and outs of internet marketing because they’ve studied every method on the planet (of course that’s forbidden in the IM Tiki Bar, you can find out why here)… but they don’t ever start using those skills because they can’t find a market.

Others go into a market that’s too small to see any results from their efforts, while others will go into way too broad of a market, and get swallowed by the competition.

So what the heck do you do?

Well, let’s just say first of all that I would much rather see you go into a market and get swallowed by the competition, or go into a market that is too small, rather than see you do nothing.

You have to jump in with both feet, and start doing, if you’re ever going to truly learn. There’s no other way.

I think that if you’re just beginning, and if you’ve never been through the process of picking niche, building a site or blog, and marketing it one way or another that it’s more important that you just go for it, than spend a ton of time researching niches.  That knowledge will come in time.

My first market I went into was the “lose cellulite/get rid of cellulite” market.  Why did I go into that market?  Only because I happened to have some PLR (Private Label Rights) content in that niche!  I suppose if I would have had PLR in the dog training, or carpet cleaning niche I would have gone that route.

Let me tell ya though… I learned a ton from that experience that serves me well everyday since.  I learned to:

  • Buy a domain name,
  • Set up my hosting,
  • Build a website including html, adding images, etc.
  • Create Squeeze pages
  • Build a list
  • Market to that list
  • SEO (search engine optimization)
  • Write better sales copy
  • Use Pay per click
  • Use Adsense
  • And even eventually flip the site for a tidy profit that allowed my family to take a nice vacation

For a long time that same site just sat and earned income without me doing anything, so it worked out well.  And I’ve built a ton of other sites ever since.

Plus those skills helped me be able to provide a lot of those same services to freelance clients.

So you see, it’s not as important if you’re new whether or not you pick the perfect niche right out of the gate.  Chances are you won’t anyways.  It’s important that you just get started.  I learned all those skills from one crappy little niche that I didn’t even care about, plus I made some dough…

So here’s what to do in a nutshell for now, and I’ll expand on it in the next post…

  • Go to http://www.Clickbank.com
  • Go into the “Marketplace”
  • Find a product that interests you and has a commission rate over $20 bucks and a Gravity (more thorough explanation on that later) of over 100
  • Study the sales page
  • Think of the person that would be looking for this product
  • Think of some words or phrases that YOU would type in if you were looking for this product.
  • Ask someone what they would type in.
  • Write some (let’s say 3) articles around those key phrases (you can use this post to help you with your article writing.
  • Come back and continue…

See ya soon back in the IM Tiki Bar.
